Thousands of students were honored at the 2026 UW-Madison Spring Commencement Ceremony. Listen as a handful of Badgers describe their favorite moments from their time at the school.
Camila Alcantara Perez will be graduating this year from both Verona High School and Madison Area Technical College’s STEM Academy program. She has been chosen to deliver the commencement address on Friday at MATC.
Camila Alcantara Perez will be the first in her family to earn a college degree. Her parents are immigrants from Mexico and have pushed for her to apply for college her whole life.
Next fall, Alcantara Perez is going to be a freshman at UW-La Crosse studying in the pre-physical therapy program. She’s entering college as an equivalent of a late sophomore or early junior and will graduate within three years.
