Clothing store owner Estevan Longoria is set to open his first brick-and-mortar Lost Files location at 607 W. Main St. in downtown Lake Geneva. The store is set to feature what Longoria calls “Midwest street ware” including shorts, sweaters, T-shirts, hoodies, hats and tote bags. A grand opening for the store is scheduled to be held May 16. Longoria has operated his business as an online store since 2021 selling products through the website www.lostfiles. store. Last year, he began designing clothing items for the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers including a T-shirt for the Brewers that was used as a giveaway program as part of the organization’s Wisconsin Artist Series. He also designed hats, T-shirts, pull-over sweatshirts and knit sweaters for the Milwaukee Bucks, which were sold in the team’s pro shop. He started his clothing brand based on his goal to start his own business and his interest in fashion. Longoria said he is now looking forward to opening his first brick-and-mortar store in Lake Geneva and may open other locations in the future.
Carey Fowler opened Eight Maids Cheese Shop, 723 Williams Bay in Lake Geneva, in December 2025. The cheese shop features locally-produced artisan cheeses, meats, jams, wines and beers. Fowler is following in her family’s tradition of producing cheese and dairy products, as they have operated the Klondike Cheese Company in Monroe for about 100 years. Klondike Cheese Company manufactures Odyssey-brand feta cheese, Greek yogurt, labneh, Greek yogurt dips and sour cream. The cheese also produces Buholzer Brothers-brand cheeses. Fowler is now looking forward to establishing her own business and providing dairy products to customers with the Eight Maids Cheese Shop.
Officials from the Lake Geneva Business Improvement District hosted their Annual Meeting and Community Improvement Awards event April 1 at the Cove of Lake Geneva hotel, 111 Center St. Awards were presented for Citizen of the Year, Community Spirit, Volunteer of the Year and Best Business Improvement of the Year. Representatives from the Lake Geneva Police and Fire departments also were recognized during the event, as well as City Attorney Dan Draper for his 18 years of service to the city of Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva Business Improvement District officials also highlighted their accomplishments during the past year, as well as their plans for 2026.
Lake Geneva Mayor Todd Krause presented David Wingate, co-owner of Flat Iron Tap, with a certificate of recognition during the March 23 Lake Geneva City Council for performing the Heimlich maneuver on a customer during an emergency situation in October 2025. Krause said Wingate’s actions allowed the customer to resume dining and not having to receive additional medical assistance.
