SAN DIEGO — Jackson Chourio robbed Xander Bogaerts of a three-run home run in the first inning and Nick Mears got Luis Arraez to fly out to center to end a bases-loaded threat in the seventh as the NL Central champion Milwaukee Brewers beat the playoff-bound San Diego Padres 3-1 on Wednesday to avoid a three-game sweep.
