Lake's Mendota's Marshall Park lagoon on Madison's Far West Side had a thin layer of ice covered with slush and snow Friday, but about one-third of the lagoon was open water.
The north triangle of Lake Mendota near John Nolen Drive had a mix of conditions Friday. The northern portion of the triangle was open water while its southern portion had thin ice covered by a layer of snow.
