A UW-Madison parking lot may be the site of a future dormitory, according to a request for proposals the state of Wisconsin issued but then took down. The state Department of Administration did not confirm whether it plans to seek a private developer to build a dorm on this or other sites on campus.
AMBER ARNOLD, STATE JOURNALLate last month, some in Wisconsin’s development community got an email from the state seeking concepts for a new student dormitory on the UW-Madison campus.
The since-removed request for proposals for a new UW-Madison dormitory identified Merit Residence Hall on West Dayton Street as a potential redevelopment site. The Universities of Wisconsin and UW-Madison say a new dorm is needed to accommodate high demand for on-campus housing.
