Epic Systems' growth means new roads, many changes for Verona

The movement of dump trucks and excavation blasts, timed for twice a day, are a new constant as Epic Systems Corp. constructs its sixth campus, on the west side of Hubble Road. Epic has not announced the theme for the sixth cluster of buildings nor determined exactly what buildings it will need, but draft plans submitted to the city show five office-style buildings.
At one of the highest points on Epic Systems Corp.’s west Verona campus, a half-dozen cranes and near-constant movement of construction vehicles along newly paved roads signal that a sixth campus is starting to take shape.
A fifth new office building, Sci-Fi, and a restaurant are being built on Epic Systems Corp.'s fifth campus, Storybook. Epic is also constructing two new buildings on its Wizarding campus and has broken ground on a sixth campus with an underground parking ramp.
Construction workers use cranes to construct the "Creatures" building on Epic Systems Corp.'s Wizards campus. Epic is adding two more office buildings, including a building named "Guilds," which would look at home in the Harry Potter series, to the cluster as it constructs the sixth campus' underground parking lot just to the west.
Country View Road, a typical town road with little to no shoulder and no curb or gutter, is closed to through traffic as Epic Systems Corp. constructs a new version of the road to the north that connects to Highway PD. The new road will help accommodate the company's future growth.
Epic Systems Corp. now owns much of the farmland west of the areas it has already developed, bounded by Highway PD to the north and Highway 18/151 to the south.
