Members of the Wisconsin National Guard head toward the state Capitol early Sunday.
Bolstering the police presence, National Guard troops were stationed in and around the Capitol and additional barriers erected.

People play fetch on the Capitol grounds Sunday, where armed demonstrations that police prepared for did not materialize.
Police on the roof of the Park Hotel keep watch on the Capitol grounds Sunday. Despite a lack of demonstrators Sunday, the statehouse is expected to be heavily guarded until President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration Wednesday.
