TWIN LAKES — Twin Lakes Fire/Rescue has a new ultra high-pressure fire suppression pickup truck designed to boost the department's initial response to active fires.
Shadow Hill Ranch in Twin Lakes will soon echo not with the sounds of storms but the boom of Country Thunder. The 2026 music festival will be held July 16-19 on grounds in the Town of Randall at Twin Lakes.
The 250th anniversary of the country will be fully on display across events for the Fourth of July weekend in Kenosha and Racine counties. Parades, music, fireworks and more are planned in communities across the area.
The district board approved a resolution June 8 to place a referendum question on the November ballot asking voters to pass a four-year, $3.2 million nonrecurring operational referendum. The referendum would allow the district to exceed its revenue limit by $800,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2027-28 school year.

The April 7 ballot included referendums for Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated Grade School, Twin Lakes School District and Wheatland J1 School District.
Based on results from the Kenosha County Clerk’s Office, Wheatland’s referendum passed, while the Trevor-Wilmot and Twin Lakes school district referendums did not.
