Running back Melvin Gordon turned in the program's all-time rushing performance against Nebraska, when he rushed for 208 yards against the Huskers. Gordon gained 2,587 yards on the ground and added 153 receiving to finish his season with 2,740 yards, nearly 500 more than the No. 2 player on Wisconsin's all-time list.
No. 6 Brian Calhoun in 2005
Running back Brian Calhoun's accomplishment is made more remarkable considering he and Brandon Williams both topped 2,000 all-purpose yards in the 2005 season. Calhoun did it by rushing for 1,636 yards and adding 571 yards receiving for a total of 2,207 yards.
No. 7 Brandon Williams in 2005
Receiver Brandon Williams topped 2,000 yards in 2005 thanks in part to his return skills. He rushed for 47 yards, gained 996 yards on returns and finished with 1,095 yards receiving for a total of 2,138 yards.
No. 8 Jonathan Taylor in 2017
Jonathan Taylor just missed out on topping 2,00 yards rushing, coming up 23 short with 1,977. He did manage 95 yards receiving to finish his freshman season with 2,072 yards.
