Who broke this @BadgerMBB team? Went from so fun to watch to unwatchable in 4 weeks.

Johnny Davis is basically a bust in DC. Does not play much on a terrible team. Does that have any impact on Gard recruiting or not ?
— Steve Schuster (@SteveSc84123682) February 26, 2024
When Bo Ryan coached his teams were in great shape. He ran a steep hill at UWP which I saw. He was my teacher for a short time and was intense. I was told he had his teams run a hill at Madison. Does Gard continue this?

Which is more puzzling: Why the football team didn’t do better despite a ton of returning talent + several new (starter) transfers or why the basketball team seems to be collapsing after an amazing start when it has so much veteran talent?
— Chris Davis (@cdavis20000) February 19, 2024
Brewers over / under 85 wins and why?

Wisconsin men's basketball fans lament yet another collapse late in season
Spiraling to the end
Signs are all there. They’ll make the tourney as a low seed and lose right away. Again. Rinse and repeat. Only relevant question is whether that’s acceptable to the AD. I’m pretty sure it’s no longer acceptable to fans.

Too soon?

Tumbling like a bad bike crash

Tough to stomach, but you're right
Based on the last 4 games....not unexpected. pic.twitter.com/Ziy8n2GAbi

One team was the aggressor, and the other lost
What a homer job. Indiana had eight fouls called against them ALL night.
— Bill Pfeiffer (@billt209) February 28, 2024
That's more lack of execution though
Awesome coaching. I especially love letting the 53% shooter dribble and not even try to foul him but wait until the 80% shooter gets it and almost give him a 3 point play.
— Pete (@Htown_999) February 28, 2024
Kel'el Ware played like a NBA first-round pick
K. Ware set the tone for Indiana’s win with his outside shooting and inside physical presence scoring a game high 27 pts and 11 rebounds. Badgers can’t win a road game. This team is fading further away from being a player in the NCAA Tournament.
— Jeff Ostach☮️ (@jeff_ostach) February 28, 2024
Easy ways to beat the Badgers?
Again, another talented, tall, long center is our achilles heal. We can’t guard him. He was hurt the first time we played Indiana. No fouls for Indiana till about 9 minutes in??? I saw plenty of bumping, grabbing, and wrestling by them.
— Mary Korn Erickson (@sixtiesfan) February 28, 2024
Not a whole lot of wins this month
Unsure what we have. Hoping Gard gets them ready for a B10 Tournament run in MSP
— Aaron W Rivard (@awrivard) February 28, 2024
Care to explain?
The bad takes by Wisconsin fans are impressive!
— David Roelke (@droelke) February 28, 2024
Oh?
Greg Gard destroyed this basketball program. Embarrassing.
— Ryan Richeal (@RyanRicheal) February 28, 2024
Seems like a high bar
If this team doesn’t make it to the 2nd weekend in the NCAA tournament then Gard needs to go.
— Mike Zee (@mic_zee) February 28, 2024
A lot of wrongs
This team needs some kind of culture change. They play weak. I'm tired of having a forward who can't do anything outside of the paint, way too easy to guard as a team.
— Jake Manser (@jake_manser) February 28, 2024
If klesmit isn't hitting shots he's useless. Defense continues to be a joke
Sheesh
Badgers only forced 1 missed FG the last 9 minutes...eesh.
— Adam Schense (@Adam_Schense) February 28, 2024
As we learned last season
Turns out playing the same brand of defense when you're scoring 85 points a game doesn't work when you're only scoring 70 points a game
— Brian S (@BrianSm71994635) February 28, 2024
It was an ugly end, kind of like the start
Another terrible road loss to a bad team. It Looked like nobody wanted to make a shot the last minute. More awful execution down the stretch I’m ready for a change at head coach. Sick of watching this kind of basketball.
— Dan Buhler (@FBuhlersDayOff) February 28, 2024
Find the lie
The number of bad losses to bad teams is unacceptable. The coaching staff owns this issue. No excuses.
— Todd J Ewen (@ToddJEwen) February 28, 2024
Here for more John Blackwell
1.Loss to bottom 4 team again.
— aarondentz (@aarondentz) February 28, 2024
2. Let a team shoot 62% you will lose..change it up a bit…for the love of God.
3. Crowl does not step out on high screen.bucket every time. Winter does step out
4. Blackwell a dawg.,.doesn’t play last 5 minutes, except for 1 def play???????????
John Blackwell fan club
@_Johnblackwell1 needs to be in there. Not afraid to drive; very athletic; finishes at the basket; quick; .... have Klesmit be the 6th man for a spark.
— Tom (@HomeStretch62) February 28, 2024
A reversal of opinion
I’ve been a supporter of Gard when others haven’t. But, it’s time for a change. Nobody can honestly say this program is heading in the right direction any longer.
— Sam Malone (@Thee_SamMalone) February 28, 2024
Fair
Just bad. I’m tired of the mediocrity.
— Lisa (@lmyarbro) February 28, 2024
Recency bias says so
Another late season collapse out of a Gard coached team. Common theme of Wisconsin basketball at this point.
— Salvador Allende (@1973salvador) February 28, 2024
Playing down to the competition level
This team doe not know how to put teams away. Took a three point lead and had opportunities to extend it. Wisconsin brings out the best in teams.
— Dean Sonsalla (@dsonsalla30) February 28, 2024
And only 11 in the first eight minutes
Nine points in final seven-plus. Not good enough…..
— Kevin Stalsberg (@broncoatc) February 28, 2024
A tough watch indeed
Another lost season after a great start… very tough to watch.
— Mark Marriott (@MarkAMarriott) February 28, 2024
Who a month ago saw this coming?
Terrible. Everybody shoots lights out against us now. I know the coaches are trying and working hard. The players are, but somethings not right? A month ago we were sitting pretty- u know there’s gonna be bumps in the road I didn’t anticipate 2&6 limping down the stretch. #bad
— Mark Massey (@mfmass) February 28, 2024
No spoilers needed
I’ve read this book before. The ending is terrible
— Sconnie1 (@LanceHudgens) February 28, 2024
Can't point to injuries this year, or can you?
Hard to watch a team fall apart 2 years in a row.
— J. Smith (@edgehatfield) February 28, 2024
Need someone to confidently step up
Same scared play as usual down the stretch. Most of them are terrified to try to make a play. That’s either a system or a personnel issue but either way, coaching staff is responsible.
— Paul Hilt (@TallPJ) February 28, 2024
That's not a bad idea
Frustrating loss to say the least but the rest of the year all the games come down to late execution which was missing tonight. Team showed a lot of fight after being down big to start. Badgers get guys in foul trouble they don’t seem to take advantage which drives me nuts.
— mike kerry (@BadgerMike) February 28, 2024
CEO?
I'm just not clear what Gard does in-game. It sure as hell isn't "stand up for his players" and it's not "draw up competent inbounds plays" and it's not "competently manage end of game situations" ... so what is it?
— Nick P Bassill (@NickPBassill) February 28, 2024
Plenty of athleticism there
I am curious as to why we rarely see Storr and Blackwell playing together
— numbWIsportsfan (@RIPReggieK) February 28, 2024
A steep hill
Gotta win 2 of the next 3 or they will be drawing a 1 or 2 seed the first weekend which is an auto loss
— Michael Paduano (@greenwave70) February 28, 2024
Hope on the horizon
2-1 to finish out the season. We will beat Illinois and Rutgers and lose at Purdue . Hopefully be in the top 4 to get a bye in tourney
— Travelin Man (@rgthomp1) February 28, 2024
Talk about a chance at a Big Ten championship!
Let’s cheer on the men’s hockey team this weekend! Look what a coaching change did for them.
