As the number of unbeaten teams in major college football was whittled to six, Clemson emerged as the best bet to reach the playoff — even though the Tigers don't appear to be a serious threat to win a national championship.
Freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik led No. 5 Clemson Tigers to a 27-21 victory over No. 14 Syracuse Orange, after starter DJ Uiagalelei was taken out of the game.

The Oregon Ducks defeated the UCLA Bruins, 45-30, in a game that wasn't as close as the score suggests. This was the first loss of the season for the Bruins.
