As the number of unbeaten teams in major college football was whittled to six, Clemson emerged as the best bet to reach the playoff — even though the Tigers don't appear to be a serious threat to win a national championship.
Freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik led No. 5 Clemson Tigers to a 27-21 victory over No. 14 Syracuse Orange, after starter DJ Uiagalelei was taken out of the game.

The Oregon Ducks defeated the UCLA Bruins, 45-30, in a game that wasn't as close as the score suggests. This was the first loss of the season for the Bruins.
The defender, who is joining the Badgers women's hockey team after two years at Union, plans to "make what I can" of the opportunity to return home.
