A bull elk was photographed by a trail camera last week near Deerfield and was later spotted Friday night on Highway 51 in McFarland. The animal, from a herd in Jackson County, is looking for mate but could return to its home range once his hormone levels decrease, according to the state Department of Natural Resources.
