Fred Conley has been working as a Santa since 2017. The retired UW-Madison Police officer travels the country this time of year and typically can be found outside a Macy's department store. Conley, 72, is seen here with some of the Christmas cards he's appeared in over the years.
Those who work as a Santa Claus for Cherry Hill Photo are required to have a real beard. For Fred Conley, that wasn't an issue since he's had a beard for nearly 30 years. He is seen here last month while working as a Santa in San Francisco.
Fred Conley may play a Santa in November and December, but during warmer months he can be found on his Bianchi bicycle. Conley, who got into biking when he began patrolling by bike for UW-Madison Police, does multiple long-distance rides each year.
