MOUNT HOREB — This may be the most Wisconsin curriculum ever.

The Driftless Historium opened in 2017 and is 18,000 square feet of Mount Horeb area history. However, the museum is running in the red and looking for ways to boost membership and attract younger visitors.
Items for butchering and processing meat, including a sausage stuffer, front left, from 1890 used by the Gilbertson family, is on display at the Driftless Historium in Mount Horeb. Sausage making and cheese will be the topic of a class in October at the museum.
The archives of the Driftless Historium hold a treasure-trove of historical artifacts, including posters advertising farm auctions from the 1940s.
