LINCOLN, Neb. — The University of Wisconsin football team has taken a fair amount of trolling in the past few years.

Nebraska's Luke Lindenmeyer (44) carries the ball as Wisconsin's Nyzier Fourqurean (3) and Wisconsin's Christian Alliegro (28) tackles him during the first half of a college football game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024.
Wisconsin football fans see a 'gutless mess' in deflating loss at Nebraska
Another letdown in a difficult stretch
Gutless mess. Longo wasn’t the only problem. Fickel is running a gutless program

The thought of another football game will keep me up tonight
Dear Luke Fickell,

Please just get us one more damn win so we can keep our bowl and winning season streaks alive. That’s not asking for much.
Signed,
All Badger fans
The mediocrity bowl went to team who showed up
Total team F,they had the opportunity against a like opponent today and didn't show up. Players, staff, and head coach all failed to step up. No excuses

Sums up the season in one word
Disaster
— Rob Schipper (@rob_schipper6) November 24, 2024
Ha, that's a good line
To Chris McIntosh’s defense, he brought Fickell in to take the program to the next level. He never said if that level was up or down

Could be best team on the moon, though!
Chris MacIntosh fired Chryst because he wanted a program that could compete for championships.
— Craig Smith (@smithcp1) November 24, 2024
Two years and millions of dollars later, this program is mediocre and irrelevant. Fickell is more likely grow wings and fly to the moon than he is to win championships.
If it weren't for several million reasons, probably
The Defensive players have quit on this coaching staff with that effort today. When that happens you have to fire the HC you can't have players quitting like that.

It's usually a sign of respect, but not today
I think it's a statement about the Nebraska program that they stormed the field after beating a below average team.

You're right in that it needs to be taught
I get the sense that UW's coaching staff believes that WI's history of physical toughness and discipline is innate instead of something that is taught, instilled, and passed on. They are incorrect

It's appalling, really
All teams, even mediocre teams, look impressive when playing the Wisconsin Badger Football Team. And Nebraska is a mediocre team as is the Gophers with the Badgers most likely ending their season with 5 wins.
— BohemianBert (@LionSubway) November 24, 2024
A physical disadvantage, indeed
Has to continue to recruit & build better roster talent. They are undersized, overmatched, & overpowered by their opponents.

Individual greatness isn't adding up, either
Reverting to the mean is not enjoyable. Just goes to show how this program has fallen. Some great individual performances today but a team that just looks lost trying to find all those little things Badgers used to be great at.

Empty trophy case is a good recruiting pitch for needing recruits, transfers
If they can't beat Minny, all three trophies will be lost for first time ever! Don't let that happen. I am not sure they have the intestinal fortitude to rise up.
— John Fischer (@JohnFis79297861) November 24, 2024
Leaves a pit in the stomach
probably the WORST I've felt about the direction of this program in years - and I can't even say much negative about Locke today. This team was not PREPARED and not MOTIVATED to play. A few good plays sprinkled into a combination of poor effort and mistakes.

Played a big part
Nebraska wanted it more. Good for them. They are now bowl eligible for the first time since 2016

Important couple of weeks incoming
Minnesota loses by 1 to Penn State. We lose to Nebraska by 19. Does anyone who saw our game and looked in on the Gopher game think we will win the battle for the Axe?

Will committed recruits remain committed? Will prospective recruits be attracted? Who will exit via the portal?
That was among several bad coaching decisions

Why run a play only to fumble and give up field goal with 24 seconds before halftime?
A tough one to watch
We lost Jim. We lost. Those are my thoughts.

Been dog-kicking for a bit
Tired of treading water…

Contrary to the grades Professor Polzin will hand out
Looking like they’re gonna need good grades to get into a bowl game
— steve (@scx_2) November 23, 2024
Or donate it to the collective
Continue to fail in every facet of the game. HC should give back some of the high salary he’s got.

Knocked it out of the park
Phew, I thought you'd asked too many questions this week, Jim.

Hope you find some comfort

Not very
Terrible in all phases along with coaching. Now it comes down to beating Minnesota for a bowl and how confident can any Badger fan be?
— Kurt (@ksagendo) November 23, 2024
Coming up next!
They haven't played the volleyball game yet.
