There were plenty of seats available when the University of Wisconsin football team visited Memorial Stadium on Nov. 4, 2023. The Indiana fan base was deep into the apathy stage by that point — the announced attendance was 45,466 — and pardon those patrons for being distracted on that sunny Saturday afternoon in Bloomington.

You know what this reminds me of ...
Brings back fond memories of ending the 23 game losing streak in ‘69 when I was a Freshman! Good for the students!!!

An unfamiliar sound
I was at a supper club in Centerville when the bar got loud. We turned around to see we scored a TD. Amazing times.🦡❤️🤍

Didn't expect that
Unbelievable. It sure looked like the Badgers came to play. They never gave up. There was fire today that has been missing. The defense was better. The offense was not great but they played like they wanted to win. The QB looked like he has potential. He clearly had a spark.

Finally an exhale of relief
They played with never failing effort
Very happy for all those kids
They may have been the lessor talented team all year, but they didn’t care.
They kept working hard and finally got some results to confirm their effort !
Bravo Baby Badgers
Inject this into my veins
I forgot how good it feels to enjoy a quality conference win against a ranked opponent!

There's still this
Offense is still a train wreak but that defense has grit
— MDSA (@RightWingEgr) November 9, 2025
Is that hope I see?
I’m happy for the fans who deserved to see the Badgers 1st win over a Top 25 ranked team since 2021. The optimism on the present and future of this program may have finally arrived tonight. I am satisfied to eat crow while being critical of Chris McIntosh this season.

A promising sign
It's was ugly at times. Hideous even. But Fickell gets his first signature win two days after McIntosh announces he'll be back in 2026? Speaks volumes to what the players think of him.

Here's a thought
Hmmm….maybe we should develop the young guys we recruit rather than using the transfer portal to patch together a “team”

Positive vibes
The fact that the crowd and team gave of energy of WANTING to be there was incredible. The support that the team gave to Carter Smith was awesome.

I could get used to this
Well, to borrow from your column, if Fickell is the new Barry Alvarez, this might have been his 1992 win over Ohio State.
— Craig Smith (@smithcp1) November 9, 2025
Or it could be a total fluke.
Either way, I'll take it. Felt good to watch the defense just beat an opponent around.
Sharing is caring
ngl, it felt good to root for the Badgers again
