Good use of "hate"
Love the win, hate the injury to chez. Feel so bad for the kid. Bend don't break defense

Sad to see for Chez
Steady progress in all phases. Losing Chez is season changing. I feel horrible for him.

Hits the gut
Defense needs a lot of work. Would feel way better if Chez injury didn’t happen

Who among us isn't?
Really happy Badgers got the win, seems secondary. Heartbroken for Chez Mellusi.

Finality is saddening
Chez injury makes it feel like a loss. These kids work so hard and then just like that, it’s over.

How could one not be?
Heartbroken for Chez.

It's the Dairy Raid
Still not seeing "Air Raid" but definitely a signature overpowering. Got to get rid of the penalties. Prayers for Chez Mellusi.

Getting there! Need the ball in Dike’s hands more often.

JJ free on Saturdays?
Tanner looked like the best qb since Bart first half. Just can’t lose confidence. Defense needs JJ watt surprise practice

Certainly so now
solid win..not perfect. Need some young guys to step up at RB

No disagreements here
My thoughts are I didn’t watch a second, I was at a high school football game. Friday nights are for high school football.

We'll see on Halloweekend
The absence of a pass rush and speed on defense is going to make it very difficult to beat teams like Ohio State.
— wisconsinsane (@wisconsinsane) September 23, 2023
What is confusing to watch however are the lack of fundamentals displayed by defenders missing tackles and taking poor angles. Tressel still has much work to do.
A fair critique
Love the faster start.

Don’t love all the penalties.
Love the offense.
Don’t love the defense.
Love the special teams.
Don’t love losing Mellusi.
Love the relatively convincing victory on the road.
Perfect practice makes perfect
15 days to practice defensive basics like pursuit angles

A good summary
The Badgers showed up to play converting 3rd downs while Mordecai led the way with his running and passing. Wisconsin finally has a quarterback. The negatives? Mellusi’s injury is serious. The penalties have to be cleaned up.
— Jeff Ostach☮️ (@jeff_ostach) September 23, 2023
Defensive optimism
Way too much negative towards Defense. Not perfect, but 9 turnovers in 2 games and not giving up the big plays over the top that has happened the previous years. In the end, keeping the point total low enough for Offense to win it. 9 turnovers in 2 games, I repeat, that is nuts.

A No. 1 receiver?
-Mordecai is the real deal
— Chris Buboltz (@ChrisBuboltz) September 23, 2023
- CJ Williams is a legit #1 target
- If the defense doesn’t start tackling better and if Tressel doesn’t start tightening things up, this defense is getting torched in the gauntlet of the B1G schedule (Iowa, Illinois, OSU)
Positive end result
Thought they played solid FB…Oline had an up and down game as did the TEs…WRs made some plays but left a few out there. Losing Chez hurts bad. Defense played well in stretches but looked bad on a few drives. Work in progress. W on the road is always a positive

QB1
Mordecai was great!!!
— Billy Douglass (@BillDouglass3) September 23, 2023
Sigh of relief
In a word: Phew😮💨 Thankful for the win after the first-quarter Badgers showed up in the third. Especially on Defense. Heart goes out Chez
— Brian Eich (@BrianEichMKE) September 23, 2023
Clutch kicking
Offense looked decent, Mordecai was good. Sick of poor tackling already. Vakos has a great leg, lucky Purdue is not very good!
— Josh Borchardt (@Germanguido33) September 23, 2023
Peeling back offensive curtain?
Play calling was creative early, went into a shell after that. D was bailed out early by Purdue miscues, shredded in the second half. Special teams was great, besides the kickoff OB. Were the center snaps slow or was it just me?

Can we get something between decades of “milk every second off the clock” and tonight’s “tempo at all costs”?
Seeing signs of improvement
The Badgers are 3-1 and 1-0 in the Big Ten West. Defense is still trying to find a consistent pass rush but are finding ways to get turnovers. Offense needs to clean up procedure penalties. Lots of work needed in bye week but they showing signs of improvement each game.

A large shadow left
The worst wins are those in which you lose a key player. That overshadows everything else. But, started better. Purdue isn’t a bad team and adjusted. Turnover luck helped.

To put it mildly
TOO MANY PENALTIES!!!!

Good, bad and ugly
The good - fast start
— Aben_glibb (@GlibbAben) September 23, 2023
The bad - tackling
The ugly - Mellusi injury (Godspeed)
Hand him the trophy
Defense still dicey but offense moved the ball great. Vakos for MVP

Sources: Wisconsin running back Chez Mellusi suffered a fractured fibula in Friday's win against Purdue and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Mellusi had 307 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns before the injury.
