Middleton resident Mary Baliker has undergone four kidney transplants at UW Health — including one from her brother — since she was diagnosed with kidney disease at age 9.
Mary Baliker, a four-time kidney transplant recipient, received the 2025 Lisa Schaffner Community Advocate Award on Thursday at UW Health University Hospital in Madison. The award from the United Network for Organ Sharing was given in recognition of her 30-plus years of advocacy for organ donation and transplantation.
