Officials from the Lake Geneva Business Improvement District hosted their Annual Meeting and Community Improvement Awards event April 1 at the Cove of Lake Geneva hotel, 111 Center St. Awards were presented for Citizen of the Year, Community Spirit, Volunteer of the Year and Best Business Improvement of the Year. Representatives from the Lake Geneva Police and Fire departments also were recognized during the event, as well as City Attorney Dan Draper for his 18 years of service to the city of Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva Business Improvement District officials also highlighted their accomplishments during the past year, as well as their plans for 2026.
Kenosha Area Business Alliance highlighted the organization’s 30 years as an economic driver during its 2026 annual meeting. The event was held at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on March. 25, recognizing KABA leaders and community partners.
Lake Geneva Mayor Todd Krause presented David Wingate, co-owner of Flat Iron Tap, with a certificate of recognition during the March 23 Lake Geneva City Council for performing the Heimlich maneuver on a customer during an emergency situation in October 2025. Krause said Wingate’s actions allowed the customer to resume dining and not having to receive additional medical assistance.
The program will provide founders with direct, free access to legal, financial, capital, cybersecurity, and innovation leaders each Wednesday at the Kenosha Innovation Center.
