Normally bustling with weddings, business meetings, music on its outdoor plaza and pampered visitors at its spa, The Edgewater hotel was forced to pivot, innovate and experiment last year.
The Statehouse at The Edgewater hotel in Madison drastically reduced its seating and removed the white tablecloths for easier cleaning due to the pandemic.
HotelRed, located across the street from the UW Field House and Camp Randall Stadium, would typically be busy during Badgers home game weekends but has been closed since March.
The Edgewater on Lake Mendota underwent a $100 million expansion and renovation that was completed in 2014. But, like other downtown hotel properties, it had little business in 2020 due to the pandemic.
