Brewers fans take shots at ownership as Craig Counsell leaves for division rival
Stain on ownership
Mark's legacy as the worst owner in Wisconsin sports history is complete.

Chants will be loud this spring
Can Mark sell the team already?

A loud decision
Hometown guy goes to the rival who already had a manager??? This sounds like a loud statement to the situation he endured the last couple seasons. I cannot fathom him being on board with PH Winker and this may be providing more evidence.

Hero vs. villain
Get Mark out of here, no one wants to work under him. He does enough to get by, will never get a team to the World Series. CC went for $, can't blame him, but biggest betrayal of a hometown guy in my lifetime. Just crazy news

Wink wink
This is on ownership and the front office. Couns was fed up. That’s the reason for the Winker decision.

Et tu?
He is a Wisconsin boy. He knows how we feel about things like this. Brett to MN? Maybe even a worse feeling because Counsell is one of us. What a betrayal. I can hear the boos already.

Ownership made its bed
Done with brewers. If you can't keep counsell over a few million a year it is clear they don't care about winning. All this while asking taxpayers for more than half a billion dollars. I suspect attendance will be down significantly next year and the brewers deserve it

All about the money
If we can’t spend money at the St. Louis Cardinal level we are destined to fail every year. With or without Counsell. All the blame is on ownership.

Lose-lose
Good for Craig.

Bad for Milwaukee. Terrible optics for the team. Makes it look like the Brewers are not a club you'd want to coach at if a hometown guy and our winningest coach doesn't want to be there.
FIB rivalry knows no ends
He should be forced to get a license plate with FIB, relinquish all Wisconsin rights - Spotted Cow whenever, best cheese, ketchup on hot dogs, etc., and have to find his own parking around Wrigley.

Valid analysis
Classic case of a business having a person who’s over performing at their job and refuses to invest due to current success. Unfortunately, once that person finally has enough they leave and the business soon finds out what they actually lost.

Two sides of the heart
He's the greatest manager in team history, seems like a really nice guy and I never begrudge anyone who gets a massive payraise.
— Craig Smith (@smithcp1) November 6, 2023
But I hope he fails miserably and is fired three years from now for being unable to get the Cubs into the playoffs.
"Fart in the wind"
went from assurance of a permanent legacy with Brewers to being just a nice story for the past 7 years that will be a fart in the wind, to quote Ron Wolf
