When IKEA opens its doors in Madison later this year, the store will take up more than just one retail space at the Prairie Towne Center on Junction Road.
Work is underway to transform three retail spaces at Prairie Towne Center on Junction Road into an IKEA. The 54,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open later this fall.
Interior work on an IKEA on Junction Road is progressing. The store would be located in what had been spaces used by an eye clinic, Party City and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Kendra Buchanan, marketing supervisor for University Book Store, left, and Kim Fredrickson, UBS’s vice president of finance, work at an IKEA computer terminal that allows shoppers to browse the IKEA website. In December, the store became a pickup point for IKEA orders, eliminating delivery charges, and also has a small display area.
