Lisa Keenan had fallen through a weak spot in the Spring Harbor ice and likely would have died had it not been for ice fisherman Pat Klingelhoets' quick actions.
"Nature is a crazy thing, and ice can't be trusted," a sheriff's official said of the yawning gap in the ice.

Lakes Mendota and Monona were largely open Friday which will help them freeze more evenly however some bays have thin payers of ice covered with insulating snow.
The Clean Lakes Alliance also has named a winner of its annual Mendota Freeze Contest to guess the date the lake would freeze over.
While the man was unharmed, two Wisconsin men died in the last few days when they fell through the ice in separate incidents.
