SUN PRAIRIE — Once the site of destruction and despair in this city’s downtown, there are now cups of coffee, racks of books, spinning wheels of pottery and above, dozens of apartments.

Prairie Pages bookstore opened on Nov. 1 in the Monarch on Main building. The 2,600-square-foot shop is the only independent bookstore in Sun Prairie and has quickly turned into a draw.
