Several downtown businesses conducted sidewalk sales offering clothing items, shoes, jewelry, artwork, toys, home decorative items and books.
The event will feature live music, food, drinks, auction, raffle drawing and presentation.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Walworth County Fairest of the Fair 60th Reunion will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6 at the Wiswell Center located on the Walworth County Fairgrounds, 411 E. Court St., as part of the fair’s festivities. The reunion will include past Fairest of the Fair winners. Coordinator Ginny Hall will discuss the history of the program, along with the first Fairest of the Fair winner, Connie Platt. Also during the program, the 2026 Fairest of the Fair winner Olivia Lois will discuss her reign. The Fairest of the Fair Contest then will be held 5 p.m. at the Park Stage, with the 2027 Fairest of the Fair winner being crowned.

The Lake Geneva Tourism Commission will not be awarding any grants for at least the next two months. On Aug. 18, commission members unanimously approved pausing the program through Oct. 31.The commission awards grants that help promote and market events that encourage overnight stays in Lake Geneva, as well as grants for municipal development projects that help attract tourism. Funding comes from the city’s room tax revenue. As of July 21, the Tourism Commission had about $26,200 budgeted for 2026 grants and about $206,000 in reserves. Commission members also unanimously approved awarding a $3,000 grant to ASR Events LLC in Rockford, Illinois, to help promote the Abominable Trail Race, which will be held Nov. 14 at Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures, N3232 Highway H in the Town of Geneva. ASR Events also will receive a $10,000 grant to help promote the Abominable Snow Race, which is scheduled for Jan. 30, 2027, at Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures. The commission is scheduled to discuss the grant program during its Sept. 15 and Oct. 20 meetings. Mayor Todd Krause said he wants the commission to consider whether to focus on awarding grants to established events or new events and off-tourism season events. He also wants the commission to consider setting a limit on grant amounts.
