Officials from Lake Geneva Schools have announced the hiring of Sean Strauss as the district’s new director of buildings and grounds, effective July 1.
With more than a decade of experience in school facility operations and safety management, Strauss brings both hands-on expertise and a strategic leadership mindset to the role.
Since 2022, Strauss has served as the director of buildings and grounds and safety coordinator for the Shorewood School District.
His responsibilities included oversight of district-wide safety compliance, facilities systems, and coordination with recreation programming and contractors.
Prior to Shorewood, Strauss served as custodial operations supervisor in Pewaukee, lead custodian at Whitnall High School, and grounds engineer for Racine Unified School District. He is certified through the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials and the Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association.
“We are excited to welcome Sean to Lake Geneva Schools,” George Chironis, director of business services, said in a press release. “His depth of experience and clear commitment to safe, well-maintained learning environments make him a strong fit for our district. We look forward to the leadership and innovation he’ll bring to our operations.”
Strauss will lead the district’s buildings and grounds department. He will succeed Scott Reiff, who is retiring after many years of service to Lake Geneva Schools.
