Holding off mutineers as they make their way to Skelton Island in a launch boat from The Hispaniola, (from left) Squire Trelawney (Jesse Robison), Capt. Smollett (Brooke Peyer), John Hunter (Sasha Koledova), Tom Redruth (Dax Straubel) and Dr. Livesey (Emily Monroe) go in search of the long-buried treasure of the late Capt. Flint in the Williams Bay High School Drama Club’s March 10-11 production of the play “Treasure Island.”
Lying on his deathbed in a guest room at the Admiral Benbow Inn near Bristol, England, ailing Billy Bones (Samantha Thompson) opens his sea chest and entrusts a treasure map to young Jim Hawkins (Anna Lock), son of the innkeepers, with an admonition to beware a one-legged man that may come around looking for the map.
Williams Bay High School senior and second-year student director Citlali Carbajal, a four-year Drama Club member, provides a pre-show welcome to playgoers at the March 10-11 Williams Bay Drama Club production of John Hildreth’s adaption of Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic 1882 adventure novel, “Treasure Island.”

With plans underway to sail The Hispaniola to the Caribbean in search of buried pirate treasure on Skeleton Island, a crew is assembled for the voyage — (from left) George Merry (foreign exchange student Diloro Izzatschoeva of Tajikistan), Israel Hands (Elizabeth Anhold), Job Anderson (standing, Samantha Thompson), Black Dog (seated, Isabelle Chamberlain) and Tom Morgan (Japanese foreign exchange student Nanao Tusuruta).
As The Hispaniola sails to the Caribbean on a treasure-hunting voyage, crewmen Pirate Two (seated left, Vanessa Thompson) and Pirate One (seated right, Joselyn Hernandez) organize ropes as cook and confessed pirate Long John Silver (standing right, Jayden Cook) outlines his nefarious plans with crewman Dick Johnson (Abigail Sennett) — have the pirates play their subterfuge roles as honest seamen until the treasure has been found and loaded and a course is set for returning home.
As the Hispaniola crewman give up their subterfuge and expose themselves for the pirate mutineers they are once on Skeleton Island, (from left) expedition leaders John Hunter (Sasha Koledova), Dr. Livesey (Emily Monroe), Jim Hawkins (Anna Lock), Capt. Smollett (Brooke Peyer) and Squire Trelawney (Jessa Robison) prepare to defend their small stockade garrison for flag, king and country.
The battle to defend the stockade garrison is underway on Skeleton Island as Squire Trelawney (foreground left, Jesse Robison) faces off in a sword fight against pirate Dick Johnson (foreground right, Abigail Sennett) and Capt. Smollett (background right, Brooke Peyer) fends off pirate Black Dog (background left, Isabelle Chamberlain).
On the hunt for treasure buried on Skeleton Island by the late Capt. Flint, young Jim Hawkins (left, Anna Lock) and pirate Long John Silver (Jayden Cook) find a human skeleton, one of the men Flint killed after burying the treasure. The skeleton’s arm points in a direction that coincides with the compass reading on the treasure map.
Among the discoveries made by young Jim Hawkins (right, Anna Lock) while hunting for Capt. Flint’s buried treasure is marooned former pirate Ben Gunn (left, Avery Kimmerly) on Skeleton Island, dubbed “Treasure Island” by Hawkins. Abandoned on the island by Flint’s pirate crew three years prior, while the solitude of being a castaway has left Gunn wild in appearance and somewhat deranged, Gunn also has a quite lucid secret — his shelter cave is full of Flint’s discovered treasure.
Returned to Bristol, England, (from left) young Jim Hawkins (Anna Lock), Dr. Livesey (Emily Monroe) and Capt. Smollett (Brooke Peyer) appear before the local magistrate to give an accounting of the treasure hunting voyage of The Hispaniola in the Caribbean, and the recovery of buried pirate treasure on Skeleton Island.
