KENOSHA — The Kenosha Public Library has announced a community project celebrating America's 250th anniversary.
The carpet in the west side of the building will be replaced beginning Aug. 31, and the project is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 18. To protect library staff and patrons, the Southwest branch will have adjusted operating hours.
The trivia event, called “Beyond the Bookshelves,” will take place from 5:30-10 p.m. Sept. 11 inside the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Ballroom, 900 Wood Road. There will be two rounds of trivia, each with about eight questions, according to the foundation's website.
In partnership with Kenosha’s Blue House Books and Millie Bo Peep, KPL will host the Gone Readin’ Reel-in Party from 3-6 p.m. Aug. 28 in Library Park outside of Simmons Neighborhood Library, 711 59th Pl. in Kenosha.
