Optimistic outlook
Basically no Essegian, game 2, top 10 team coming in the nation. Seems like a perfect time to melt down and overreact like many of your replies seem to be doing🙄
— Colton Wilson (@ColtonWilson23) November 11, 2023
I like this team. I like them more when Connor is back. I like them most because they’ll be better come game 30.
That's usually how it goes
Good balanced scoring, but bench didn’t give us much
— chuckwestover (@chuckwestover) November 11, 2023
FTs were God awful, threes not much better
Storr went to sleep in a crucial stretch
We got out-hustled on a lot of loose balls and rebounds
Refs did not help
But I like this team, we just got beat by a better one
Slight offensive improvements necessary
If they just shoot a modest 33% from 3 and shoot a modest 70% from the line....Bucky wins the game against a top 10 opponent
— Ryan Antony (@RyanAntony22) November 11, 2023
Neither of those percentages are that extraordinary. This team will win A LOT of basketball games this season, when they shoot at just an average clip
Entertainment is meant to be fun
I like this team and they’re fun again to watch. Good early learning lesson. Tennessee is also very good and Barnes is a great in game coach

Nick's likes and dislikes
Good:
— Nick P Bassill (@NickPBassill) November 11, 2023
-TONS of promise from new guys
-If you hit FTs+3s = win
-Wahl seems healthy?
-Decent Gilmore minutes
Bad:
-Crowl still has a 6" vertical
-Gard still can't call timeout plays
-Start 10-20 on FTs
-Very poor straight line defense
Needing efficiency on both ends
Badger bigs are soft at the rim on both ends
— Ben Bromley (@ben_bromley) November 11, 2023
Points on game flow
Have to get the ball in Storr's hands more in the second half. Would love to see how the game flow goes if a few of the very suspect calls/no calls go the other way. Defense needs improvement.
— J.B. (@TheAntiHeroLife) November 11, 2023
FTs, how is it still an issue? Especially with Wahl?
Knecht connected often
Like how hard the Badgers played. Tennessee is physical & good defensively. Missed Essegian's offense. Knecht is a stud. FT's an issue again. Gave up way to many lay ups to big guys on the pick and roll again. Tough non-conference schedule, but this team looks promising
— Kirk Eastenson (@Eastyfor3) November 11, 2023
Valid analysis
The defense was very un-Wisconsin like. The Vols were able to get in the lane at will.
— Craig Smith (@smithcp1) November 11, 2023
Pacing important
I think in general, they played well. Gotta hit the FT’s and 3’s. Storr needs to slow things down at times.
— Michael H. Hyman (@MCPSsportypsych) November 11, 2023
Tennessee envy
Tennessee is the type of team I would like Wisconsin to be. They are so solid and do all the little things well. With that said I think the Badgers will be just fine this season in the Big Ten.
— Alex (@breitfelder3) November 11, 2023
Who should be chef?
💯 on Gard. No Connor last 5 mins. He posts Tyler and Steve but they can’t make shots or FTs. They are not scorers. Took him 25 mins to put Tyler on their 6ft 9 guard. Team will be good this year but let chucky and store cook like first half
— ChazB (@chazb33) November 11, 2023
Back to the dance!
No surprise. If they can stay healthy it should be a good year. 5th-8th in the conference. 8 or 9 seed in the NCAA.
— Pat Heffling (@wurstbrewerfan) November 11, 2023
Simply put
They were solid. No worries.
— Más Tequila (@JoRy_MaMa) November 11, 2023
Free throws are FREE
Wisconsin looked pretty good, Tennessee was just better. Their defense is really tough. They're the real deal and will go far this year. It's not a bad loss.
— Dakota Chambers (@DakotaChambers) November 11, 2023
Missed FTs sealed our fate - that's the only obvious thing to fix.
I'm not as confident in you
Me vs Wahl in a FT contest. We each shoot 100 and I’ll shoot 50 of the 100 left handed just to even it out. Confident I’ll win easily
— Tyler Morgan (@tyler_morgan28) November 11, 2023
B1G potential for Storr
Tennessee is a very good team with size and scoring all over. Still, we had a chance and fell into the old 'smash out heads against the wall' patterns.
— 𝖂𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖘𝖎𝖓.𝖏𝖕𝖊𝖌 (@Ouisconsin) November 11, 2023
If Storr can reign in the hero ball and be more than a cone on defense, he'll be all B1G.
The math is mathin'
I just want to be an average 3 point shooting team instead of absolutely trash.
— Robinson Muff-Potter (@thonnius_maker) November 11, 2023
If we’re gonna have a deficit in athleticism every game, need to hit shots
Could be!
A lot to be encouraged about with this team. Could be a fun season!

Launch the campaign
Free throw awareness month is every month.
— Jeremy Wojtecki (@jwojPAC) November 11, 2023
Have to figure it out
Seems like a stretch
Not good, but what’s the answer ? Fire Gard and bring in some hotshot from another conference with no connection to Wisconsin? How’s that working out for football.
— Steve Schuster (@SteveSc84123682) November 11, 2023
Seeking continuity
Not mad- good effort, a little early in the season for a top ten game like this. The threes will drop when they get a little more comfortable and then the Badgers will be a force
— A J K (@ajknick) November 11, 2023
Appears to be so
Frustrating. But will be a much better team this year than last. Need to figure out how to shoot free throws though
— ryan veglahn (@RyanVeglahn) November 11, 2023
Solid summary
Stagnant offense + missed free throws - defense stops = frustrating loss
— Randall Kohl (@crandallkohl) November 11, 2023
Trick or treat?
defend better. if Wahl can’t be better at FTs I don’t see how we run our post game through him in a late game scenario…
— CoachLaFleurious (@tylertichenor84) November 11, 2023
I remember when the badgers getting into the bonus was free candy. didn’t have that last year and still an issue.
But room for growth - we will get better
We were there!
I forgot they were on, I was watching the Badgers women's soccer team beat Milwaukee 2-0.

Plenty of games left
Missed opportunities and lot to learn from this game. Losing to the #9 team in the nation is nothing to be ashamed about though.
— Elliott B (@SconnieFanBoy93) November 11, 2023
It’s the second game of the season, I’m not worried.
I like this proposal
Stat that needs to be added in basketball is how many of the misses are front ends of 1 and 1’s. Really should count as 2 misses which would be more accurate in calculating how much it hurts teams. Like us.
— john berg (@BadgerJohnBerg) November 11, 2023
Yet we keep coming back
Feel like I’ve seen this movie before. With a minimum of 10 losses this year it’s already tougher to see making the tournament. With no improvement in FT shooting it’s going to be a disappointing year.
— Michael Burger (@Burgscom) November 11, 2023
High hopes
I really think this team is 2nd best in the B10
— Chris (@cgwilcat30) November 11, 2023
More realistic?
Call it early season optimism but I can see this team as high as a ten seed
— Aben_glibb (@GlibbAben) November 11, 2023
Not again?
I think we’re NIT bound
— MJ (@MikefromWisky) November 11, 2023
Ain't gonna happen (for a few years)
My thought is stop putting the games on Peacock

The fun is in the journey
New year, same issues. Not enough athleticism, stagnant O, missed FTs. I can save myself the heartache and check back in with this team in March.
