The Badgers wore tan pants and UW on the jersey and helmet for a Sept. 28, 2019, game against Northwestern that was part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of college football.
Red pants surprise, 2007
UW wore red pants for the Sept. 1, 2007, season opener against Washington State at Camp Randall Stadium. Then-athletic director Barry Alvarez, who didn't know ahead of time about the outfit alteration, "called us a SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) team on TV," coach Bret Bielema said two days later. "It was a mixed reaction."
Red on the road, 2005
