Bill Heberlein of Madison, Jim Strommen of Mount Horeb, Dick Snyder of Madison, Duane Schober of New Glarus, Tom Kammerude of Blanchardville and Bob Strieter of Cambridge made up the chain gang for Saturday's Badgers game against Rutgers at Camp Randall Stadium.
Dick Snyder, the most veteran member of Wisconsin's chain gang, operates the down marker and writes the yard line on pieces of tape before each play.
A clip sits on the 15-yard line to allow the chains to be reset if they move or if there's a measurement needed on the field.
