Many downed trees are scattered on the University of Chicago property along the lakefront that is set to be sold soon, although it still remains if it will be sold for residential or institutional uses.
Over the last year there has been a significant amount of debate about the about nine acres of wooded lakefront property owned by the University of Chicago in Williams Bay.

Here the University of Chicago lakefront property up for sale is shown. The public easement from the lake to Constance Boulevard is set to remain under the current residential plan. The university says it plans to sell the land. They are trying to rezone it residential. But will sell it zoned institutional if needed, which would allow for other developments.
