State Rep. Janel Brandtjen, R-Menomonee Falls, an election denier who has clashed with Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, said she left a closed Republican meeting last week because of family commitments.
Assembly Republicans voted last week to prohibit Rep. Janel Brandtjen from attending the GOP caucus’ closed meetings due to a lack of trust in the Menomonee Falls Republican, who has denied the outcome of the 2020 presidential election and clashed with the state’s top legislative Republicans.
Leading by around 40,000 votes with an estimated 93% of ballots counted early Wednesday, Johnson said he's confident Barnes cannot make up his deficit.
