One of the oldest and largest county fairs in Wisconsin, the Walworth County Fair dates back to 1849, just a year after Wisconsin’s 1848 establishment.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters to prepare for the opening of several hunting seasons in September. There are six dates throughout September when seasons open. Hunters are encouraged to double-check season dates and that they have acquired all necessary licenses and stamps before going out for a hunt.

Members of the Lake Geneva City Council’s Public Works Committee unanimously approved a $580,258 bid from Asphalt Contractors in Union Grove to work on the city’s 2026 street improvement program. The bid still has to be voted on by the full City Council. The program is set to include road improvement work on Cook Street, Wrigley Drive, Host Drive and Wrigley Drive, as well as stop sign installation near the intersection of Dodge Street and Broad Street. Representatives from Asphalt Contractors proposed a total of bid of $660,418 which included asphalt and stormwater improvement work on an alley between Cook Street and Madison Street, but city officials have decided to remove that project from the street improvement program.
