Sioux City Journal remembers Jerry Lee Lewis: When 'Great Balls of Fire' told his story

In June 1989, the Sioux City Journal's Bruce Miller chatted with rock music legend Jerry Lee Lewis about the film "Great Balls of Fire", a biopic capturing the influential career and controversial life of the artist nicknamed "The Killer."
Lewis died on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at the age of 87, at his home.
When asked at the time how he kept up a rigorous touring schedule at the age of 53, Lewis told Miller "Survival is the name of the game. The grace of God keeps me going."
Lewis was the last-surviving member of the so-called "Million Dollar Quartet", a famous impromptu jam session involving Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison.
