Timeline: Coverage of Wisconsin search for athletic director to replace Chris McIntosh

There are obvious candidates to replace Chris McIntosh. But this is a plum position — even with a mess to clean up — and the candidate pool should be deep. 

From an internal contender to leaders with Wisconsin ties to outside-the-box candidates, here's a list of people who could be in the running to succeed Chris McIntosh. 

Wisconsin is hoping to have a new athletic director in place this summer, it said as it unveiled the members of the search committee.

Al Fish is a strong believer in alignment between a chancellor and athletic director. The former Wisconsin adminstrator believes that might not be possible with an interim making this hire.

Three weeks after Chris McIntosh announced his departure from Wisconsin, the school hasn't announced details of the search for a new athletic director.
