UW-Madison Provost John Zumbrunnen has been a political science professor and held various leadership jobs, including senior vice provost for academic affairs, vice provost for teaching and learning, and vice provost for teaching and learning.

Over the years at UW-Madison, Provost John Zumbrunnen has led student groups on study abroad trips. Framed maps of five countries — the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ireland, Puerto Rico and Singapore — where he has led student trips hang on his office wall.
