A second grade teacher called police at 10:57 a.m. to report the shooting.

State and local officials offered statements ranging from condolences and prayers to frustration and calls for action in the wake of another school shooting.

After a 17-year-old girl shot eight people at Abundant Life Christian School on Monday morning, students ran from the building.

"Enough is enough,” Madison police Chief Shon Barnes said of Monday's shooting. “We have to come together to do everything we can to support our students."

A day after a 15-year-old student killed two and injured six at a Madison Christian school, the city is trying to sort out what happened, and how to move forward.

Jeffrey Rupnow, 42, of Madison, faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a child and providing a dangerous weapon to a person under 18.

The crime scene tape is long gone, and classes have been back in session since January 10. But for some community members, that day never really ended.

Not included on the list was the May 1 fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy by police outside Mount Horeb Middle School.

The incident came hours after the fatal shootings at Abundant Life Christian School less than two miles away, but there was no indication of any connection to that tragedy.
