School families and friends filled the church that shares a campus with Abundant Life Christian School and other Madison residents gathered on Capitol Square, to grieve and remember.

“When people say, ‘Where is your God?’ He is more evident now than he’s ever been to us,” the Rev. Sarah Karlen said in the wake of Monday's shooting.
The work could take weeks, police said. Authorities are also mulling criminal charges, although it's not clear against whom.
“This is something that we train for, but no one ever wants to be involved in, and so despite what training we do, there’s still going to be a significant impact on our first responders.”
