When the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote, was ratified in 1920, Wisconsin played a starring role in the effort: it was the first state to ratify the measure on June 10, 1919. The last of the required 36 states ratified it on Aug. 18, 1920.

                    Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on July 24 announced nearly $50 million in state investments to help support 37 projects across 28 Wisconsin counties. The projects are aimed at helping support Wisconsin’s farmers, producers, and agricultural industries by improving rural roads and bridges that are critical to moving and transporting products, crops and livestock, among others, efficiently and effectively across the state.

                      Gov. Tony Evers, together with Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes, announced July 23 that Wisconsin saw record planned capital investments last year as businesses located and expanded throughout the state. 

                      Businesses partnering with the Evers Administration through WEDC committed to more than $2.4 billion in capital investments in fiscal year (FY) 2024, the highest level since WEDC was created in 2011 and well above the previous high of nearly $1.8 billion set in FY19.
