For the first time, the state Republican Party will not endorse any of the GOP candidates running to unseat Democratic Gov. Tony Evers this fall after former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch won the majority of votes at the state GOP party convention, but came about 6 percentage points short of the votes needed to secure the party’s endorsement and the resources that come with it.
