  • Jul 21, 2022

The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a 1,200-mile footpath contained entirely within Wisconsin, traversing the state from St. Croix Falls in the west to Sturgeon Bay in the east, dipping as far south as Janesville, with a portion of the trail cutting through the Kettle Moraine area of northwestern Walworth County near Whitewater.

The photos shown here were taken by Lake Geneva Regional News reporter and columnist Eric A. Johnson during a July 2022 day hike of the trail's 4.6-mile Whitewater Lake Segment in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern Unit between the southern trailhead at Clover Valley Road, 0.2 miles west of Kettle Moraine Drive, and the northern trailhead at U.S. Hwy. 12 and Sherwood Forest Road.
