The Lincoln Symposium focuses on former U.S. president Abraham Lincoln’s legacy and the Civil War. Carthage College and the Civil War Museum will host the symposium in partnership with the Lincoln Forum and the Lincoln Presidential Foundation, Carthage announced on Wednesday.
Ewaldt, who recently began serving as Kenosha YMCA’s new child care director in March, has taught thousands of children in her lifetime. Prioritizing children’s rights as citizens is key to her educational philosophy, she said.
The Wilmot Union High School projects, funded through a $22.9 million capital referendum voters approved last year, will cover a wide range of facility needs. The construction work will affect building and parking lot access beginning in June.
The district board approved a resolution June 8 to place a referendum question on the November ballot asking voters to pass a four-year, $3.2 million nonrecurring operational referendum. The referendum would allow the district to exceed its revenue limit by $800,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2027-28 school year.
The degree program will include concentrations in performance, technical production and design, and playmaking and dramatic literature, according to Carthage’s June 22 announcement. Carthage is now accepting applications for the new BFA in theatre arts program.
