Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 35 points, 20 assists and 17 rebounds to lead his team to a 126-113 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. Antetokounmpo became the first player to reach all three marks in a single game and also the third player this season to register 35 points and 20 assists after Nikola Jokic and Trae Young. The 30-year-old’s 20 assists were a career high and made the two-time MVP the third player in franchise history to have at least 20 dimes in a game. Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham lamented the importance of Antetokounmpo becoming more of a provider with star point guard Damian Lillard sidelined with deep vein thrombosis. “Giannis has to think more like a point forward. And he's already built like that. So, it's not too much of a challenge for him. It's just now, you know, him understanding the organization, making sure we're in the right spots, making sure our timing is on point and the ball is moving when it's supposed to move on time or target,” said Darvin Ham, assistant coach. Antetokounmpo echoed Ham’s thoughts after the game, noting the importance of “making good decisions for the team” as the primary ball handler. Milwaukee, who sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, had to win the game without their head coach, Doc Rivers, who exited early through illness.
