Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has pledged his support for head coach Mike McCarthy despite the team’s playoff exit. Speaking after the Cowboys’ shock 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers, Prescott attributed his season's success to his head coach. "He's been amazing. I don't know how there can be (questions about his status), but I understand the business. In that case then there should be about me, as well, honestly. I've had the season I've had because of him. This team has had the success that they've had because of him," said Dak Prescott. Rumors regarding McCarthy’s future had been swirling before the loss, with the 60-year-old having one year remaining on his contract. McCarthy has led Dallas to three straight 12-win campaigns, as well as two NFC East titles in 2021 and 2023, but has managed just one playoff win. Team owner Jerry Jones said that he hadn’t “thought one second” about McCarthy's or Prescott's future with both signed through 2024. The Packers became the first seventh seed in history to win a playoff game and are set to face the San Francisco 49ers in the next round.
