Why wide receiver position may be passed on by the Packers in upcoming NFL Draft
GREEN BAY — The depth of the Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver room took a hit this offseason, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that this is now a pressing need that must be addressed right away in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Packers saw Romeo Doubs sign with the New England Patriots in free agency. Green Bay also traded Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles for a pair of draft picks in return. Combined, that’s 93 receptions, 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns from the 2025 season that now have to be replaced.

GREEN BAY — With the 2026 NFL Draft approaching, the tight end position for the Green Bay Packers is not to be forgotten.
With Tucker Kraft, the Packers are positioned well at the top of this depth chart. Prior to Kraft suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2025, he was emerging as one of the NFL’s top tight ends, bringing a do-it-all presence for Green Bay.

Defensive tackle could be among priorities for Packers in draft
GREEN BAY — Defensive tackle would seem to be among the more pressing needs that Green Bay Packers’ general manager Brian Gutekunst must still address in the 2026 NFL draft, and there are a few reasons for that.
For starters, the depth of this group was exposed last season after Devonte Wyatt was placed on injured reserve.

Last August, Gutekunst pulled off the blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons, sending two first-round draft picks to Dallas, and then made Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

GREEN BAY — At one point this offseason, linebacker was one of the more under-the-radar needs for the Green Bay Packers. Quay Walker’s pending free agency and a lack of depth due to a few others hitting the open market resulted in some uncertainty.
However, looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, that is no longer the case, given how general manager Brian Gutekunst approached free agency.

GREEN BAY — Entering the 2026 NFL Draft, there may not be a bigger need on the Green Bay Packers' roster than there is at cornerback. Bolstering the overall depth of this unit and adding competition for playing time are reasons why not just one, but multiple draft picks could be spent on the position.
Returning from last season are Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine. The two played the most snaps at cornerback for Green Bay, with Nixon making 17 starts and Valentine making 11.
