Allen Lazard prepped for the greatest opportunity of his pro football career back home, working out at his alma mater, Iowa State, and staying away from the offseason program while hoping in vain for the security of a long-term contract.

Randy Ramsey might be the most important player on the Packers’ roster you’ve never heard of.

Jake Hanson is happy to take on the extra assignments and responsibilities that come with working with the No. 1 offensive line at right guard and with the No. 2 group at center.

Danny Davis has quietly come on and has caught the eye of head coach Matt LaFleur and others. “Danny has shown much improvement, especially coming from (the offseason program) to now,” LaFleur said.

Given Green Bay’s three consecutive 13-win seasons and a roster that makes the Packers a Super Bowl contender once again as they enter the first training-camp practice, it’d be next to impossible to argue the deals weren’t well-deserved.
