PASADENA, Calif. — A mighty quiet group of Wisconsin fans left the Rose Bowl Thursday after the Badgers’ 7-0 loss to Southern California.

PASADENA, Calif. — Wisconsin's football team became the first Western Conference representative to lose in the Rose Bowl since the modern pact was signed when the Badgers dropped a torrid battle to Southern California, 7-0, here New Year's Day afternoon before a crowd of 101,500.

Thousands of Madison residents who crowded around television sets here Thursday were pleased with the clarity of the TV picture, but were anything but happy with the score of the Rose Bowl game.

An aroused Madison television audience registered its disappointment Thursday when the telecast of the Parade of Roses in Pasadena, Calif., failed to picture either the Wisconsin float or the University of Wisconsin marching band.
