Wisconsin men's basketball fans not amused with win vs. Maryland
A flurry of points in the final 91 seconds were part of the cause for concern as the Badgers improved to 2-5 in February.
An efficient Wahl is good news
Great balanced scoring

Fantastic free throw shooting
Only 4 turnovers in 2H
Solid rebounding and hustle
We did shoot way too many threes in 2H
Wahl has been terrific lately in the paint
Let’s take a week and then build off it at Indiana!
What are tonight's officiating grievances?
Winning is good. Especially when you have to endure crappy officials.

Took advantage of whistles
Free Throws were huge! Well not the beautiful win that I figure most wanted to see. But I have seen enough of Maryland in BigTen play to know we don’t want to see them on B1G Tournament. Take a few days off and back to the grind.

Imagine the writers on deadline ;)

Open shooters when they need to shoot; weird choice
I will always take a win, but the defense didn't exactly fill me with confidence with its ability to put the Terps away.
— Craig Smith (@smithcp1) February 21, 2024
And bad for our deadlines
In the last 91 seconds, 30 combined points were scored. That is absolutely astonishing and an under bettors nightmare.

NOPE

Too many TOs, but defense looked better at times
This team is talented but wobbly and seems to play nervously. Hopefully a week off provides a bit of a reset.
— Brian S (@BrianSm71994635) February 21, 2024
For the past 25 years intangibles have differentiated UW from teams of similar or even better talent. This team doesn’t seem to have that DNA
The regular season?
a team not making it out of the first weekend in march.

Freshman finding his footing again
Very nice to see a win, which ultimately is what matters most. Some other thoughts:
— Nick P Bassill (@NickPBassill) February 21, 2024
-Great game by Bkackwell. So excited to watch his future
-Can't run clock with 2 minutes left up 2 scores. Killed us against Nebraska, and if Max doesn't hit a lucky shot, who knows
Ah, the tradition continues
Best team ever!!
— aarondentz (@aarondentz) February 21, 2024
Cut down the TO’s
Not sure why we are sagging so much on defense with the big guys on pick n roll…step out so guard doesn’t get a head of steam.
Played aggressive for most of night…love it!!
A noticeable bench switch
Blackwell adds an awesome element to the squad, Ilver over Gilmore 👀

Another potential get-right game
Winning is not easy. Now let’s get the next one on the road.
— Chris Davis (@cdavis20000) February 21, 2024
Closing time was clutch
28 for 31 from the FT line (90%).. And some high pressure ones at the end. Nicely done. Good win for the #Badgers!
— Jake Nelson (@Jake_Nelson10) February 21, 2024
Better days ahead on the perimeter?
Need to find three point stroke again. Max is thinking to much. AJ needs to get feet set. Steven and chucky shoot it. Marcus, Connor and Blackwell…let it fly.
— aarondentz (@aarondentz) February 21, 2024
Well-coached against an athletic team
I thought Gard used his bench very well tonight. No Gilmore. Used Tyler at the 5 and went small. Some new wrinkles worked. I wonder if they will ever junk the stall ball at the end of games. It is the worst.

Leaky is a good term for it
Always happy to get a win. Defense continues to be woefully inconsistent. The last 5 minutes were leaky at best. Great free throw shooting got them the win.

It's OK to take good shots
You appreciate every conference win. This team struggles playing with a lead. No pace. They burn too much clock getting into something, and they play tentative and defer the shot to somebody else, often passing up open looks for bad shots at the end of the clock.

Must be a rough month for ya
I was too nervous to watch. Now that i see they won I can stomach watching it. 😀
— Kristi Conway-Powers (@NoodlesP29) February 21, 2024
I didn't have issues?
Peacock sucks. Can’t pause the game.
— Melissa D (@MelissaMBrewers) February 21, 2024
Klesmit was King Clutch on his late three.
Lots of work to do in the coming weeks.
Pretty offense
Half court sets were solid. Good ingenuity. Solid ingenuity.
— Más Tequila (@JoRy_MaMa) February 21, 2024
Or not
Just zero ingenuity in their half court sets. Zero
— Nate in Appleton (@NateAndree) February 21, 2024
Tired legs?
If somebody could explain to me why the badgers can absolutely not hit a three in the second half I would love to hear it. A lot of wide open shots that were missed.
— Dean Sonsalla (@dsonsalla30) February 21, 2024
Pressure cooker
Whew 😮💨
— ksagendo (@ksagendo) February 21, 2024
Just needed a stop on like the last 5 possessions but suddenly Maryland couldn’t miss from 3.
Solid at both ends
Crazy ending to that one. Nice win Wahl brought it today great game from him.
— Salvador Allende (@1973salvador) February 21, 2024
Highs and lows
Still lots of anxiety watching the Badgers. More improvement needed still on turnovers. Good rebounding. Free throws were huge!! Max came through with a timely three. Chucky and Tyler’s experience was a difference maker.
— Mary Korn Erickson (@sixtiesfan) February 21, 2024
League title in reach
Anyone else have a stomach ache from watching Wahl take that monster shot in the gut while trying to draw a charge? 2.5 games back with 4 to play.

Win, dance, repeat
Finally! 😎 great FT shooting, good rebounding, some key buckets! 🏀🏀🏀
