Badgers fans take to Twitter to share thoughts on Wisconsin's victory over Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Wisconsin State Journal reporter Jim Polzin asked Badgers fans on Twitter what they thought of Wisconsin's 42-28 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the Duke's Mayo Bowl Wednesday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Here's what fans were saying after the Badgers finished the pandemic-shortened season with a 4-3 record:
Aren't we all
I’m good on needing mayo for a while. pic.twitter.com/mGH1L9z7Xj

No. Definitely not.
needed more mayo

Moving on ...
In a mayonnaise jar kept on Funk and Wagnals porch since noon yesterday?

Best of a bad situation
We all need larger perspective. What a wild, unprecedented season. Ends with winning record, Axe, and Bowl win. Wasn’t an elite team. Too many injuries. But made year positive. Could have easily been rock bottom. Time for new players to step up in 2021!

Feeding frenzy
Nice adjustments on the RPO slants in the second half, but the corners were eaten alive all game.

Grinding on
FB U!!..The future is bright. The year was disjointed overall and didn’t pan out quite how we’d hoped, but some kids got some valuable experience heading into next year. They’ll be back to very good soon.

Orchestrating a victory
More than that. Leonhard baited them with blitzes up the middle until they thought the slants were open, then had LBs fake the pressure and drop into passing lanes. Very smart, very patient and more than a little risky.

Without a doubt
The slow start was somehow Gard's fault

Why?

Going out with a bang
Great to see so many players scoring today with Stokke, Groshek, Mertz, Berger and Chenal. But the Badgers Defense was outstanding. Give the game ball to the Defense! Great to close the “season”on a W.

Plenty of time to prepare
Four picks and *176* return yards on those said picks completely turned the game around in the second half. Needed all of that to cover up for offensive inefficiencies today. I'm onto Penn State on 9/4/21.

Is that good?
5-1 in bowl games under Coach Chryst.

Thanks for the image
Only way it could’ve been better was if it ended in a mayo bath

Giving it their all
Great tenacity - never gave up and it really paid off. Great way to end a strange and wacky year and nice to see some big plays by the seniors.
— Susan Balsai (@sesbadger) December 30, 2020
Giving it away
Did not see this one coming. Predicted that the game would be like the first 7min. Trying to remember a QB imploding like Wake’s.

Fantastic finish
Great 2nd half adjustments, and our LB’s are studs! Great way to close out the season with a dominating 2nd half performance. They found ways to do just enough on offense and the D brought home the win. Happy for the @BadgerFootball team and for Badgers Nation. On, Wisconsin!👐🦡

Ready for a new year
Great way to end a crazy year. More positives than negatives going into 2021. Let’s hope 2021 is back to normal and we can be back in Camp Randall to support the team. Happy new year!

Turning it around
Worst start that could have happened. Then some energy and started to get comfortable. Chandler and Brown look good. Good way to end the weird season!
— Michael Burger (@Burgscom) December 30, 2020
Good things to come
It is unfortunate that it was because of injury but great to see Logan Brown. Also with freshmen Chandler, Dike, Berger, Mertz, Lytle, Engram, Witt, Maema and Johnson play. Lots to be excited about.

Bright future awaits
Great stepping stone for 2021 Jim, top 15 recruiting class, a potential transfer in Stepp from USC, big things are on the horizon
— Mark Johnson (@miggs721) December 30, 2020
OK, that's the last one

Getting the job done
I can't say we were better but we made the most out of what they gave us. And they gave us a lot. That Wake receiver, number 5 I think, is a fantastic player. But, in the end, we spread the offense and held the mayo. And we salvage a winning season. Not a bad day's work.

Beats the alternative
It's better than losing! Rough start, great adjustments and finish for a shorthanded team!
— Andy Steinbrenner (@ajsteinbrenner) December 30, 2020
Bucky never sleeps
Yay. Now let’s start another win streak on the basketball court.
— Andrew Miller (@heyapm) December 30, 2020
Way to project your voice!
They must've have heard me 900 miles away after the 1st quarter. Good way to end the season with a W.
— Daren Helmenstine (@helmenstine34) December 30, 2020
Softening the blow
It's a winning season and pleasant end to a horrible 2020!

Time to stack the deck
We need blue chip WRs and its on! The future is bright in Madison, WI
— Tony (@MontereyJack3) December 31, 2020
Seems about right
The somehow perfect end to 2020.
